Welcome back to the worktable, my friend. Today we are constructing a remarkably tender character. Flora the Highland Cow embodies softness and charm through careful proportion and deliberate stitch placement. By anchoring her features low on the face and emphasizing a generously rounded head over a petite body, we capture absolute innocence. Let us prepare our materials and crochet with purpose.
About This Creation
This bovine companion is engineered using the classic 60/40 ratio. Her heavy, domed head creates immediate emotional resonance, balanced by her small, pear-shaped body. The richly textured hair fringe requires patience, but the result is undeniably charming. We will complete her look with deeply scalloped, hand-crafted overalls.

The Hair Fringe
✨ Cut strips of Amber Brown textured yarn, approximately 10cm long. Using your hook, pull a loop of the yarn through the top front rounds of the head (rounds 1 through 6). Pull the ends through the loop to secure, creating a dense fringe. Trim evenly above the eyes.
The Tail
✨ Cut 3 lengths of Chestnut Brown yarn, 12cm long. Fold them in half. Pull the loop through a stitch at the lower back of the body (round 6), then pull the ends through the loop. Trim neatly.
Assembly
➡️ Sew the body to the head, aligning the final round of the neck (round 19) to the final round of the head (round 24).
➡️ Attach the snout exactly between rounds 15 and 21 of the head, centering it perfectly between the low-set eyes. Stuff it lightly before closing the seam.
➡️ Sew the ears to the sides of the head at round 10. They should sit horizontally.
➡️ Attach the flattened arms to the sides of the body, precisely at round 18.
➡️ Sew the legs to the bottom of the body between rounds 3 and 7. Verify she can sit evenly before securing completely.
➡️ Position the flower crown behind the textured hair fringe, sewing the roses, daisies, and leaves securely to the scalp.
➡️ Dress her in the overalls. Sew the straps to the back edge of the pants, cross them over the shoulders, and secure them to the front bib with the two wooden buttons. Embroider a white vertical line on the center of each black hoof to create a cleft.
